Martha Hudson was a well known in the community for her watercolors depicting scenes of Eastern Shore life. As a young art student, Martha was given a grant to use for the continuation of her studies. In return she generously left an endowment for awards to be given each year by SMAL to deserving watercolor artists.
The judge this year was Joan Machinchick, an award winning watercolorist, calligrapher and graphic designer.
You can view the entire exhibit of more than 35 works during the month of December at the rear gallery of the St Michaels Library, 106 Fremont St. during regular library hours. Art is for sale through the artists.
