Labor Day Art Show
Not to be missed is the annual outdoor Labor Day Art Show Under the Tent front and center on Talbot St. where visitors can peruse over 300 original paintings by art league member artists. This annual event draws visitors year after year who are looking for that special something to take home or, to just view the outstanding artwork on display.
Banner Program
Look up! As you meander down St Michaels’ main street, Talbot Street, you will see the Celebrate St. Michaels Banners created by Art League artists exclusively for the Town. In 2022, SMAL’s successful banner program again adorned Talbot Street in Saint Michaels with 32 banners depicting local color and life in our community. Artists are currently working on 2023 banner art. For more information visit our Banner Program page.

Capturing Autumn Exhibition

The St. Michaels Library Gallery

This exhibit will run through the month of October at the Saint Michaels Library.
1st Place Adkins in November by Rhonda Ford
A very peaceful and meditative painting; it is very open yet enclosed. The abstraction hints at the movement of light, shadow and wildlife just out of sight. The accents of orange and pink give the composition strength and Autumn energy.
2nd Place Forest Prism by Beth Wright
The attention to color and shape gives a beautiful feel of symbolism to this painting. The centrally split composition gives a duality evoking the chill of autumn on one side and the warm seasonal sentiment and color on the other side.
3rd Place Autumn Dusk (Pine needle coiling) by Jane Tolar
Beautiful craft with subtle color contrast. Rich thoughtful materials.
Honorable Mention –Moonlight Delite by Peg McCormack. Captures the reflective moments of an Autumn evening walk and the internal quality that nature out of focus at night creates.
Honorable Mention – Last Dance by Jo Merrill. The gesture of the leaves is animated and lively. Playful like Autumn. Wind swept and atmospheric without being overly literal.

Excellence in High School Art 2026
The Excellence in High School Art exhibit will take place at the newly rededicated gallery at the St. Michaels Library throughout the month of May. Sixteen art works have been chosen by the art teachers at Saint Michaels High School and juried by a team of art league members.
2026 SMAL Banner Show at the St. Michaels Library
The 2026 SMAL Banners are on display through May 5, 2026 at the St. Michaels Library in St. Michaels, Maryland.
