Whether you’re a mixed media aficionado or using this show as a catalyst to experiment with new combinations of materials, we’re calling artists to submit work to Mix It Up!

Your artwork must include at least two obviously different mediums so that your work will be easily recognized as a mixed media piece. (Sorry we cannot accept tabletop or freestanding sculpture.)

All 2D mixed media work and 3D Assemblages must have a hook or wire and can be hung on the hanging system. You may submit one or two pieces. Our juror is Bridget Whited, a St. Michaels Middle High School Art Teacher.

More about our Juror, Bridget Whited

Bridget Whited is a Visual Educator at St. Michaels Middle High School, where she has taught for 18 years. She co-founded Spindrift, Talbot County Public Schools’ Literary Arts Magazine, and serves as its Design Layout Faculty Advisor. A National Board Certified Teacher, she was named Talbot County Teacher of the Year in 2015 and was a Maryland State Finalist. In 2024, she received the Maryland Art Education Association Advocate for Inclusivity Award. As an artist, she works primarily in Batik, drawn to its methodical process and therapeutic qualities. While her personal artwork is currently on hiatus to focus on raising her two young children—who she is fortunate to have on campus with her—her commitment to fostering inclusivity remains at the heart of every art-making space she cultivates. She strives to create an environment where all are welcome and free to be themselves, using art as a tool for expression and self-discovery.
