Will Denehy

After practicing architecture for way too long, Will retired to The Eastern Shore of Maryland and started learning to paint and write short stories. As an architect, his goal was to create beautiful buildings—believing they were acts of civility that honored everyone who passed by. Will shares the same aspiration for his paintings: he wants them to be beautiful and to brighten your day. Or at least change it.

Will, a former vice president of The Dorchester Center for the Arts, won the People’s Choice award at the DCA members’ show four years in a row and sold two paintings at last year’s SMAL Labor Day Sale.

Will recently published a book of short stories and novellas called Fats.

When not writing or painting, Will spends too much time trying to master the Kings, BB & Albert, on his PRS Santana guitar, getting wet in his kayak, and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.

Presentation:  Double Pour Technique for Displaying Photographic Art

Reinhardt Sahmel is a photographer living in Easton, Maryland.  His presentation will demonstrate the double pour technique for displaying photographic art.  The “double pour” technique for displaying photographic art refers to a method of embedding a photo within two layers of clear epoxy resin to achieve a protected, high-gloss finish. This technique is commonly used to create items like coasters, keychains, or mounted wall art.

His travels are reflected in his varied work.  Learn more about Reinhardt Sahmel’s work at www.reinie.smugmug.com.
