This show will be judged by Julie Madden, a lifelong arts activist and supporter who, in addition to the Maryland State Arts Council serves on the boards of the Maryland Citizens for the Arts, the Maryland Humanities, the Commission on Artistic Property, the Maryland Historical Society, the World War 1 Centennial Commission, Walters Art Museum and Baltimore Museum of Art (ex-officio). She has previously worked as Maryland’s Director of Arts and Community Initiatives implementing cultural programs for the office of the Governor. Julie holds an M.A. in Decorative Arts from the Smithsonian-Corcoran College of Art and Design and is a graduate of Leadership Maryland class of 2017​.

Madden will be at the reception on October 5th from 5:00-7:00 to award the cash prizes and talk about the artwork. 

To participate, you must register with the Talbot County Arts Council’s online artist registry.  The registry is open to all artists – amateur and professional – who live, work, show, or sell in Talbot County. This comprehensive listing is a great way to share your art.

The St Michaels Art League (SMAL) and Talbot County Arts Council(TCAC) are co-sponsoring this event.

WHAT is the Artist Registry?

This online artist registry is provided as a service to all artists who live, work, show or sell their art in Talbot County, Maryland, as well as to residents and visitors who wish to see or buy their work. It is provided without charge to artists or users by the Talbot County Arts Council.

WHY do I join the Artist Registry?

  • VISIBILITY: People can view your art online – no personal website or Facebook page necessary!
  • SALES: Artists already listed have sold art to people who have found them on the registry!
  • MARKETING: List the galleries and shows where your work is available.
  • FREE SHOW: You get to be in the fabulous “Celebrate” Art Show in October.

HOW do I sign up on the Artist Registry?

  • REGISTRY: Visit http://talbotartists.org. Before you begin: (1) Write a short artists’ statement and artist bio if you wish. (2) Gather addresses, phone numbers, and website info for galleries where you exhibit. (3) Find 1-6 digital photos of your work. For assistance, contact 410-310-9812. We want to help you join the registry!
