2017 Banner Artists Announced!

“At Ease” by Joe Fasolo
Poster available at Creative Xpressions and A.M. Gravely Gallery

Once again, SMAL artists have turned their paint brushes to Banner images, creating artwork that will decorate street poles in mid-town St. Michaels. Much anticipated by tourists, town folks, and merchants, these Banners represent a collaboration with the Talbot County Arts Council, Choptank Electric Cooperative and other advocates to “Celebrate St. Michaels.” Peruse the posted images on our Banner Page and you will see artist’s interpretation of life in St. Michaels executed in various media, all to a common format. A St. Michaels High School student, Julia Spurry, provided an image as well as a previous scholar, Hannah Hughes. Artists benefit by the follow-up exhibition at the St. Michaels Library, opening on April 3 rd ; publicity; and a chance to sell their original or the actual Banner at the September Labor Day Show.
